The more it snows-tiddely-pom
The more it goes-tiddely-pom
The more it goes-tiddely-pom
On snowing.
And nobody knows-tiddely-pom
How cold my toes-tiddely-pom
How cold my toes-tiddely-pom
Are growing.
"It's snowing still," said Eeyore gloomily.
"So it is."
"And freezing."
"Is it?"
"Yes," said Eeyore. "However," he said, brightening up a little, "we haven't had an earthquake lately."
(from The House at Pooh Corner by A.A. Milne.)
One of my favorite songs.
ReplyDeleteStay warm. It seems odd to be watching your snow while we are so hot here.
Thanks for reading and commenting Penelope. The upside-down seasons of the southern hemisphere do take a bit of getting used to.
ReplyDeleteMy Mother always used to hum the "how cold my toes-tiddley-pom" verse whenever we had a frosty morning when I was a child, so as soon as it started snowing that was the first thing that came to mind. (Come to think of it, nearly all my Mother's hums were from A.A. Milne when we were children).
Hard to get my mind around snow in New Zealand, since I've only visited the South Island in my winter (December) and your blazing summer.
ReplyDeleteKeep warm-tiddley-pom!
